One topic that I have always been fascinated with is comparative mythology.
Along humanities history we have created recurrent tropes along our stories. This includes myths, legends, religion and fiction. One of this tropes is regarding Ishtar, or Inanna. She is the Mesopotamian "Queen of the Heavens" a femininely deity strongly connected to Venus as the first star in the morning. Therefore the trope of the Light bringer that we can be see in parallel characters like Lucifer, or with fertility's with Aphrodite.
Therefore my approach on this illustration was to bring some of these linking threads and take them to create a cohesive piece. I am drawing influences from traditional Hebrew depictions of Angels and divine beings as well as bio-futuristic design seen in Tattoo artistry. The final outcome is an illustration that regardless of the artwork title can be interpreted by different individuals who recognize a holy flair woven into it. However leaving it at just an angel would be an underappreciation of the different topics going into this character's rendition.
